ABOUT YOUNG LIFE

1941

Young Life begins in the USA

In a town in Texas, at the request of his pastor, a young associate pastor named Jim Raybrun began showing young people how much God cares about them by showing up in their world and sharing the message of God's love through Jesus in ways and words they could understand and relate to.

1989

Young Life in Manatee Co.

In the fall of 1989, Jim Nelson accepted the position and came to Bradenton as an associate pastor and Young Life Church Partner. He began hanging out with kids in the church and meeting their friends. On February 26, 1990, the first outreach club started and has since reached thousands of kids and families with the Gospel.

Young Life has now become an integral part of the community and is continuing to grow and strengthen, reaching more and more kids who desperately need the love of Christ.

Capernaum

Young Life leaders have the privilege of knowing and sharing their lives with teenagers and young adults with disabilities. While all Young Life activities are open to every high school student, many Young Life areas have dedicated programs for students and young adults with disabilities, typically referred to as Young Life Capernaum Ministries.
Young Life Capernaum gives young people with physical, intellectual, and developmental disabilities the chance to experience fun and adventure, to develop fulfilling friendships and to challenge their limits while building self-esteem through club, camp and other exciting activities. Young Life staff and volunteers model Christ’s unconditional love and acceptance as they walk alongside these young adults — filling their lives with love and support.
Capernaum Club
Capernaum is for all of our friends with disabilities that want to experience a night of fun, build relationships with caring adults, and catch a glimpse of God’s love. We meet about twice a month at Trinity United Methodist Church from 6:30 - 7:45pm on TUESDAY evenings upstairs in the Young Life Club Room. Click here for our Spring Schedule.

YoungLives

Our mission is to introduce teen moms to Christ and help them grow in their faith.
There are teen moms in your backyard who are desperate for love to walk into their cafeterias, their doctor's appointments, their homes ... their lives. YoungLives is doing just that and changing generations. We are reaching out to young women who have never experienced the real love of Christ. We come alongside to help them discover who they were created to be. God has an exciting plan for their future!

SPRING KICK OFF DATE: February 1st
